Amateur Radio in Sydney, Australia since 1919

This site contains details of the Waverley Amateur Radio Society including its activities, history and membership. We have also gathered together a lot of useful information for amateurs, especially visitors to Sydney. Use the Side Bar on the left or the Site Map to find any item of interest and the Search box on our home page to find a name, callsign or topic on the web site.

The club was founded in 1919 and is the oldest continuously licensed amateur radio club in Australia as well as being the first to be licensed for TV transmission in 1935 and to set up a website created by Ben, VK2XUF. This and other previous versions of our website can be viewed here.

The club's 90th anniversary was marked with a special event callsign VI2BV90 for the period between 24/1/09 and 1/2/09.
