licensed in 1981 and operated mainly using digital techniques on UHF, and Satellites, Studied at St. Helens College of Technology, gained HNC Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, & control Systems, Full technological Cert in Control Systems, Worked as Maintenance Electrician for Large Papermaking Co, then Development Manager for Wire weaving and Electroplating Co. Then European Sales Manager for Foundry equipment & Robotics & Metalliferous Mining plant manufacturer. Retired at 63. to focus on Trout & Salmon fishing & play radio, My main interest in Radio was always Satellite work and Meteor & Aircraft Scatter mainly 6Mts using FT-dx3000 for HF work through a Mag Loop Antenna ( yes they do work) and VHF & UHF using a FT-991 & FT- 817nd through WIMO Cubical Quads, & 6Mts using a 4 element beam, All on Spid Rotators for Az/EL . My Daughter who is an Australian Citizen for 14 years has suggested I come to live here in Mosman with her family, and I am currently resetting up my station.
